Explosion Suppressant Foam /Anti-Slosh Foams /Gas Tank Foams/Reticulated Foam
Reticulated Polyurethane
These types of explosion suppressant foams and gas tank anti slosh foams (MIL-DTL-83054C and MIL-PRF-87260B) are designed specifically to be used in an environment where gasoline/diesel/aviation fuel is the primary fluid being displaced. Overall lifespans may vary depending on fuel type, foam type and application.

Lightweight, flexible reticulated polyurethane foam composed as an open cell structure that acts as a barrier/baffle to mitigate the effects of an external/internal ignition causing event. For instance, imagine two identical tanks filled to 100% capacity with fuel, one without foam and with.
The 3D open cell structure of the foam acts as a built- in baffle which reduces the effect of fuel sloshing. As the fuel flows through the foam, the uncontrolled/violent nature of directional changes is now replaced with a slower/controlled flow. This slower/controlled flow will change the handling nature of the vehicle by stabilizing the side loads of the fuel inside the tank. Depending on the shape, design as well as the amount of foam and conformity to the tank, structural baffles may no longer be needed.
